The Pokémon Company released collectors to the Pokémon TCG Diamond and Pearl edition back in 2007, including a Bonsly trading card. On this artwork, the fourth generation stone creature is portrayed by artist the talented Harada in a somewhat awkward situation. Here, this pre-evolution appears fallen and weeping. But don't misunderstand, though. Similar to its attack the move Fake Tears, this Pokémon attempts to sway the other player's mood with the goal of lowering their offensive power. Memorable card, isn't it? Harp player Emily certainly thinks so. And she's got a binder with 305 Bonsly illustrations to show for it.

The Entire Assortment and Its Highlights

That's not the whole collection also. She has acquired 20 holo reverse editions of the Bonsly card, portraying the small Pokémon in reflective foil all over except the primary illustration. The prized possession, though, proves to be the PSA 6-graded reverse holographic Bonsly edition. Sure, it's far from a top-graded original Charizard card. Yet, do you possess a goofy, almost perfect Bonsly card preserved in all its splendor? Probably not.

Origins of the Collection

Emily dedicated most of the current year accumulating each Bonsly card from 2007 that she could locate. She initially learned regarding this discontinued card earlier this year, during a discussion the notoriously odd cards among collectors with a staff member at her favorite card shop. She soon developed a habit of visiting her local card shop regularly, and became known by workers as "Bonsly Girl". Typically, these cards are priced at one to three dollars, she notes, estimating that her total expenditure is somewhere around $400 for the collection book.

Market Trends and Value

Nowadays, mint-condition the card might be valued at nearly $15. While that's on the higher end, run-of-the-mill Bonsly #71 cards usually go for four dollars or more. That price increase more or less coincides with the time Emily began her collection in earnest, although there are probably various influences. "The amazing thing is certain fans and enthusiasts on social media have sent copies of Bonsly her way to add to my collection, and they will remain these cards protected always," Hopkins says. Far from being alarmed, fans are impressed and inspired by her Bonsly binder.
