I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
